The Classic Fjord dinnerware collection was first inspired by the boat-shaped bowls that Dansk produced in staved teakwood during the company's early years (circa 1960). While recreating those nautical forms in cast metal, I began to recognize a certain geometric logic to each – an interesting formula that suggested a wide range of simple, but highly functional shapes – each in a different proportion, each to serve a different purpose, each with an inherent beauty.
